CALLING UPON FOREIGN OCCUPATION FORCES INTO HAWIYE HEARTLAND

The first and the foremost, my congratulation goes to the Somalia’s newly elected Prime Minister, Professor Ali Gedi, who hails from Hawiye Majority (Mudulood). The Manner in which the Prime Minister was elected and his sudden and unexpected appearance on the political scenes has raised many questions than answers. There are groaning voices of whether Mr. Gedi is a hand picked or unanimous candidate. And whether he is politically independent from Ethiopia’s colonial ambitions and its surrogate son’s (Abdullahi Yusuf) influence, who would undoubtedly act as Ethiopia’s viceroy to Somalia, and has a clan based insatiable dreams, anti-Islamic religion traits and Hawiye hatred.

As the title of the article entails, there are historical precedence that Mr. Gedi should be mindful as any seasoned politicians will do. Two factors would be charged for his political strength, personal quality, and historical knowledge and the lessons learned from Somalia’s recent political maneuvers, and the causes and the consequences of the Somalia’s on going fraternal civil strife.

1) To object and block Abdullahi Yusuf’s intention of bring foreign occupation forces into Hawiye heartland, in order to obliterate the Hawiye politicians, academics, religion scholars, confiscate Hawiye meager resources and impose unbearable parasitic taxes on Hawiye to fatten his insatiable dreams and minion locusts.

2) To be someone who can unify the desperate and squabbling Hawiye disunited politicians, and make them coherent, unified and respectable forces that can serve the progress and prosperity of the neglected Hawiye and rehabilitate their long suffering, while executing his national duty with fair, just, equity and impartiality and awarding every Somali citizen accordingly based on good faith, moral integrity, academic qualification and loyalty to his motherland and the Somali masses.

The failure of these two crucial principle factors, the history would place Professor Ali Gedi alongside with many toothless Hawiye politicians who let down their community and their name that today lingers with sorrow and dejection among Hawiye masses. If the government of Mr. Gedi becomes a just, fair and popular that base on its functions with rule of law, equitable to every citizen wherever he/she hails from, then, undoubtedly that regime would succeed, lead to the healing process of our national wounds, historical trauma, injustice, corruption, inertia, incompetence and favoritism that has been plaguing and hampering our progress and brought where were are now.

However, if Mr. Gedi fails what has been appointed and the high expectation that has been bestowed upon him, and Abdullahi Yusuf gets his way and his slogan of war on faith, decimation of Hawiye and the re-colonization of the Hawiye territory and people with the help of foreign occupation forces, since he cannot able to neutralize Hawiye masses with his own private Puntland militias, then Somali will see a new civil strife that will reverse that hard won Hawiye freedom, recovery from physical scars, and historical injustice and physical injures, verbal abuses and material dispositions.

Hawiye warlords too are not without blame and they have contributed the perpetual suffering of their people and revisit of history that we are dealing currently. In the last fourteen years, Hawiye politicians have been susceptible to external enemies influence, internal strife, divisions, squabbles, and disloyalty to their community, while waves of enemies have been gathering around their necks. This has particularly pleased our historical enemy of Ethiopia and its surrogate son (Abdullahi Yusuf). It is a double bonus for Abdullahi Yusuf who wants to execute both his personal private ambition and objectives while on the other hand serving the Ethiopia’s interests unwaveringly. For Ethiopia, the election of Abdullahi Yusuf for the Somalia’s presidential seat, however it might be illegal or ill-gotten; it is the greatest present of Ethiopia’s East Orthodox Christmas feast that it had ever in the recent memory.

For the Hawiye masses and academic, business communities, there are good lessons to be learn how Abdullahi Yusuf was elected, who elected and how all his internal and closely related critics disappeared and kept low profile when they saw their man on the Somalia’s political throne whom they expect soon to unify their clan cause, political dominance, economic well being, and clan supremacy, through disarming Hawiye masses, subjugating their bright forces and making them once again Hawiye the second class citizens. Through dive and rule of Hawiye, clan against clan, family against family, create new strife, tension and trigger unproven crises in order to prolong his grip of power and instability in the Hawiye heartland.

No doubt Abdullahi Yusuf and his advisors as they have been on the record on many occasions, believe that the easiest way to divide, rule and dominate Hawiye is to appoint or award a negligible positions to the Hawiye individuals as long as that clan /individual can harm his next kin and obey Mr. Abdullahi Yusuf’s intention and order to the letter. Use them when it is necessary and remove them where they are no long important.

Having highlighted all these short comings and ominous danger that is lacking at the corner, I encourage Hawiye to re-evaluate their contents, characters and socio, economic and political directions. To be just and fair to their fellow brothers and sisters of other Somalis and to themselves, and to be on the side of the teaching of our holly Quran and the teaching of our beloved Prophet Mohamed’s guidance (Peace Be Upon Him) until the last hour. For that reason only my article objects Mr. Abdullahi Yusuf’s policies that based on clan and personal insatiability and mirage dreams of enmity towards Hawiye Masses, and his unflinching service to our historical enemy of Ethiopia.

All predictions are: under Abdullahi Yusuf’s illegally gained tenure of office, will turn Somalia into an Ethiopia’s proxy rule. Somalia’s sanctity of independence and proud sovereignty would be eroded, corruption, criminality, immorality, epidemic of an incurable diseases will become pandemic. He is the man who historically set the flaming fire of today, in order to achieve his myopic and narrow mindedness based policies on clan favoritism and dictatorial ambitions. Abdullahi Yusuf is the man who spent all his life to be a foreign espionage, Ethiopia’s stooge and double dealings, enmity of Islam, promoting clan haughtiness and relegation of his rival clans in order to be called a president. As Somalia’s bumpy and an unknown chartered ugly page of history commences, it is a high time for those of us who has the opportunity to enlighten the unsuspecting and ever trusting masses is to warn them before it is too late. One would hope that the likelihood Hawiye targets are not all deaf and blind but can discern the ominous clouds of danger that encircling them.

There are times of peace, politics, and perpetual strife. Abdullahi Yusuf and his foreign backers are willing to use all means that available to them including a lip services and deceptive words of peace, political insincerity, deceptive of divisions, political and physical eliminations and military usurps, in order to destroy those they see as their potential rivals to their short and long term dreams.

Somalis know each other, historical and magical words of propagandas have been called into their bluff. Abdullahi Yusuf knows his private and clan based militia cannot out maneuver no one. The only option left is to call upon and rely on foreign forces, and let Somalia to be taken over by foreign occupation enemies as long as he can claim any semblance of power and title.

For Hawiye, they need to unify their political muscle, moral unity, economic resources, attentive to the creeping and deceptive dangers that dividing and ruling, while their marginalization is underway.

Both history and Hawiye community will never forgive Hawiye political leaders if Abdullahi Yusuf succeeds his misuse and illegal and ill-gotten power to marginalize Hawiye masses, appropriate Hawiye territory, resources, sanctity, while his close minions rampages at will.

I Am not against Abdullahi Yusuf because of his clan background or his diverse community per say, but I abhor his ill intent of political misuse, injustice, immorality and the immeasurable enmity of Abdullahi Yusuf that he habours for the Hawiye Community, that he explicitly expresses.

In life, nothing is guaranteed or assured, winning or loosing is with Allah. Someone like Abdullahi Yusuf who is day and night appealing to none Muslim forces into the land of Muslims whereby the name of God and his beloved Prophet is recalled constantly, is undoubtedly questionable whether his faith, morality or belief is different than those he is willing to ally with against his fellow Muslims.
