SOMALIA IS AN ISLAMIC SOCIETY
“ISLAMIST” IS A NULL AND VOID CONCEPT

The Somali society needs to embrace its heritage including it is cultural, ethnical and the mere fact that we share a common faith “ISLAM”.

Lately, the western media and think-thank interest groups are bombarding the world public opinion with new terminology and concepts that do not correspond with our search for justice and the pursuit for bringing social equality to our chaotic society.

Since the aftermath of 9/11, the politicians of the West employed various scapegoat ways to channel their perception of the event.

One such terminology is the concept of “Islamist” uttered by the western think-thank group over the Shari’a law and the Islamic judicial system competent in regulating the civil and criminal affairs of the population of Mogadiscio.

The word “Islamist” does not exist in any language or in any written conceivable definition. There are numerous ideology and/or profession that contain the suffixes “–ist” meaning the one who does, such as: economist, socialist, dentist, communist, capitalist etc.

Therefore, the word Islamist is a null and void concept.

This new speculative word “Islamist’s” underlining objective is to distract the concerned citizen of the West as well as the Somali population to:

• Give a leverage to establishing an all-inclusive “Warlord & Co” government-in-exile formed in October 2004, as a result of two years meeting in Nairobi. Warlords are the very same people who rob, oppress and kill mercilessly.

• And/or to provide false derisive grin to an ever increasing US concern over the aftermath of 9/11.

With regards to the latter, the US Special Anti-Terror Force based in the Horn of Africa’s city of Djibouti patrols 7/24 the Somali air and water. Furthermore, the US has the most effective intelligence gathering utilizing satellite and high-tech devises in detecting, surveying and monitoring traffic movement in the Red Sea waters and the Indian Ocean. The US does not provide protection to the Somali needs in safeguarding the country from illegal fishing or/and unlawful of toxic waste dumping in its territory.

Somalia is an Islamic nation and will remain as such, as Islam teaches us to live up to high moral standards in conducting human relationship with other human beings. Somalia is also a poor country, poverty is a condition in which humans can overcome someday in history.

However, ISLAM IS A LIVING FAITH with its Islamic law and jurisprudence that are internationally recognized branch of law.
Following the Islamic faith will always ignite our souls in this life and the after-life. HOLD ON TO IT.
