Abdullahi Yusuf is a threat to the Somali existence

Jan,10.2004 Radio Free Somali (RFS)

Hate is a bit subtler than cruelty. On the other hand, the perfect tool for hate is cruelty. There is no denying Ethiopia’s hatred brings forth the newly created Federal Somali Government headed by Abdullahi Yusuf, a Cain who committed murder against his own clan members. He is a kind of a person who strongly supports the use of violence in political relationships rather than reconciliation or other peaceful means. Professor Wole Soyinka quoted that “It is the humanity that defines a nation, not its megalomaniac rulers who permit themselves to forget, all too often, that they themselves are a mere minuscule part of that humanity”. In fact, Abdullahi Yusuf was never anything but a puppet figurehead presented to give the illusion of an emerging democracy.

Ethiopia is motivated not by humanitarian principles, but by lucrative economic and strategic interests in the region. The vicious conspiracy against Somalia and its people has been unveiled when the Somali federal transitional assembly parliament backed by Ethiopia officially inaugurated on 30th July 2004. That's the real tragedy of the Somali people, none else, and it's really sad, that after all those centuries we were living in angst and still the majority of the Somalis are living in terror. It is misfortunate that some of us have still not realized the tyranny of Ethiopian regime. One is not justified in making a definitive judgment of anything important without having delved into the facts of the matter.

It was revealing that after more than two years of debating in Kenya, Ethiopia backed a Somali Transitional Federal Government with a 275-member assembly consisting of bloody warlords and other unrepresentative tribal elders. These so called nominees are mostly illiterates, deceptive, petulant, evasive, dishonest and above all, illogical. Daily Nation, Matt Bryden (March 12) observed that “Most of the Somali political leaders meeting at Mbagathi are—in the public's perception—‘damaged goods”. Thus, some ignorant people had selected an incompetent regime. Somalia has been divided into fiefdoms via so called “federalism”, leaving Somalis divided into clan enclaves or “emirates” and more vulnerable to “divide and rule” tactics by Ethiopia. The recently nominated 91 ministers and the similar number of assistant ministers is an obvious source of dissatisfaction. Somalia becoming a sovereign state in this manner has created and the act of more confusion rather than hope.
However, Somali people are fully aware that Ethiopia is forcing with this chaotic process towards statelessness while fueling tribal wars along the border regions of Somalia. The recent Mudug region tragedy that cost many lives and result in destruction of countless property illustrates that such clan wars persist. In fact, the guerilla assault was part of an organized Ethiopian government network backing Abdullahi Yusuf’s militia to destabilize the peaceful regions.

Ethiopia’s war-like involvement in Somali affairs is a blameworthy act of inhumanity; it is a violation of all norms of international law, including the Charter of the United Nations. We are informing the world peace institutions, United Nation and other peace affiliates in order to fully engage and to stop the inter-clan wars fueling by Ethiopian regime. Ethiopia must stop this unjustified aggression!
